Horse Sense and Dog Tales

I have been very blessed to have had several really good dogs in my life.

Most have been stock dogs. Some have been purebred, some not. I have also had the privilege to work with some good hounds, terriers and even a chihuahua worth mentioning.

I know lots of folks just want a dog to be a good companion and there is not one thing wrong with that.

I, however, like for my dogs to be more. I have a lot of work to do and I like dogs that want to help me do it. A strong work ethic is a fine quality in both dogs and people and I admire it in both.

I have a trio right now that I am very pleased with. I have had all of these dogs since they were 6 to 8 weeks old and have done all of their training. They each have unique personalities and shine in different areas, but all contribute nicely to helping me get the farm work done with as little hassle as possible.

From left to right are Peach-border collie, Tag-border collie and Ember-australian kelpie. On this blog, I will be sharing their stories, as well as some other animal related stories from both present and past. I hope you all enjoy it and please feel free ask questions and leave feedback. I would love to hear from you.
